Best Destination Travel: Phuket Diary Thailand

Phuket is first mentioned as a major source of tin in the sixteenth century when the island became an important source of revenue for the Thai kingdom at Ayuthaya, as well as an important trading post. It was also during this period that the first Europeans arrived on Phuket.

The best time to visit Phuket is during the cool NE monsoon season, from December through March (See photo Galleries December and January in Phuket), when it isn't so humid, and the cool breezes keep things comfortable. The average temperature is around 75F to 89F (24C to 32C). Note that lately, as almost everywhere in the world, weather is unpredictable.

Đoàn Chí nguyện Hòa bình kỷ niệm 50 năm thành lập (VOA)

Cách đây 50 năm, Tổng thống John F. Kennedy thành lập Đoàn Chí nguyện Hòa bình để phát huy hòa bình và hữu nghị giữa Hoa Kỳ và các nước. Vào tháng 8 năm 1962, toán đầu tiên của Đoàn Chí nguyện Hòa bình Mỹ đến châu Phi. Kể từ đó, 200.000 người tình nguyện đã phục vụ cho đoàn trong các vai trò y tế, giáo dục, và cố vấn kỹ thuật tại nhiều quốc gia. Hai cựu tình nguyện viên nói chuyện với thông tín viên Đài VOA Deborah Block về những trải nghiệm qua những lần phục vụ cho tổ chức này.
